Data Manager

Location: Little Rock, AR

Position Summary

The Data Manager will lead the implementation and maintenance of our client level data system and manage staff. This system provides client level data to improve Arkansas Foodbank programs and services to people who are hungry. This position will also work with the Data Systems Director with our ERP systems, reporting, and to implement exploration tools, dashboards and other data visualizations to deliver insights.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Data Manager is a vital member of the Information Technology department and collaborates with them to support the implementation of new strategies, programs or initiatives. This position will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration and team work, and a commitment to hunger relief.

Service Insights System Management

  • Lead the development of the implementation plan for rollout of service insights software and ongoing programming
  • Build and manage service insights SQL database
  • Maintain, wrangle, and analyze service insights data for dissemination among a variety of stakeholders
  • Create and support onboarding and training curricula and materials to promote use of Service Insights by Arkansas Foodbank and partner network
  • Provide technical support to users in a friendly, timely manner in person and online
  • Troubleshoot data inconsistencies including duplicates and typos-working to address these issues at both the agency and Network level
  • Know all components of the service insights system in order to provide support to all parties.
  • Create and update agency user accounts within the system

Data Analysis and Management

  • Assist the Data Systems Director with the ERP system, reporting, training, and troubleshooting service tickets for Ceres, Agency Express, Service Portal, Agency Portal, and other software used by organization staff.
  • Develop jet reports (Excel) to pull data from the ERP (Ceres) for organization staff.
  • Develop SOPs for data reporting, analysis, and use as required.
  • Create and supplement documentation around processes to aid in improvement plans.
  • Create and maintain data visualization reports and dashboards for various stakeholders using PowerBI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
  • Conduct ongoing trainings with organization staff on various data-related topics.

Other Duties

  • Exemplify Arkansas Foodbank values and mission during community projects and at public, social, and business gatherings.
  • Accurately prepare and submit required reports to the Chief Information Officer and outside entities on a timely basis.
  • Keep up-to-date and knowledgeable about issues and trends, policies, regulations, and other matters affecting the Foodbank.
  • Attend required staff meetings, training, and conferences.
  • Perform other duties as necessary or assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may supervise temps and/or volunteers/interns


Position Qualifications

Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of the Chief Executive Officer.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Business, Information Systems/Technology, Public Administration or a related field PLUS Two (2) years of relevant experience

OR

  • Associate degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Business, Information Systems/Technology, Public Administration or a related field PLUS Four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in research, evaluation, or data management
  • Experience in a non – profit organization preferred
  • Managerial experience preferred
