Warehouse Specialist

Location: Little Rock, AR

Position Summary

The Warehouse Specialist works in a team setting to reach warehouse operations goals. The Warehouse Specialist performs warehouse duties including: sorting, receiving, pulling orders, and operating forklifts.

This is a safety sensitive position.

The Warehouse Specialist is a vital member of the Operations department and collaborates with them to support the implementation of new strategies, programs, or initiatives. This position will be comfortable learning new technology, as well as an eagerness to utilize Arkansas Foodbank software systems. They will possess strong interpersonal skills, a spirit of collaboration and team work, and a commitment to hunger relief


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate industrial lift trucks and other motorized and non-motorized equipment to unload trailers, transport, select, stock, and load heavy/large merchandise
  • Meet safety, accuracy, and production standards for all assignments
  • Receive all product from trucks making deliveries to the Foodbank
  • Receive all product picked up by Foodbank trucks
  • Select product safely with a high degree of accuracy
  • Restock merchandise in the order selection area
  • Assist agencies with loading of their pallets
  • Transfer products to cooler, freezer, and warehouse from dock area
  • Complete proper receiving and shipping forms.
  • Make safety inspection of the equipment at the beginning of each day. Turn inspection report in to Warehouse Manager
  • Perform basic sanitation duties to ensure a clean environment
  • Inspect all incoming loads for evidence of spoilage, odors, damaged containers, insects, rodents, excessive heat damage, freezer damage, water damage, mold or product leakage and report same to Warehouse Director
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

Other job related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval.

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • One year relevant experience
  • Must be certified to operate power industrial equipment (fork lift, pallet jack, etc.) or be able to pass power industrial certification. The power industrial certification will be administered by the Arkansas Foodbank

Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, hand controls; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus Frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds, and occasionally lift and or maneuver up to 100 pounds in multi-temperature environments ranging from -10F to 100F with appropriate assistance and/or assistance from another person

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to severe.
